Pues bien ya sabes que lo del avion es de lo mas desagradable, llevate un reloj con fondo transparente asi ven que no es una bomba, mejor aun entra en pelotas en el avion, pero no.. entonces te detienen por escandalo publico. Riete de los mejores tiempos de cualquier dictadura opresiva. Yo mientras siga el asunto asi me niego a ir a eeuu o reino unido, y despues ya veremos.

At Tysons Corner Mall, there are two notable watch stores: Bailey, Banks and Biddle, and Lenkersdorfer. Both also sell jewelry. Between the two, Lenkersdorfer has the better selection: IWC, Patek, Panerai, Chopard, Jaeger LeCoultre, etc. In my opinion, Lenkersdorfer also has better service. The only two brands that Bailey, Banks and Biddle has not found at Lenkersdorfer are Zenith and Audemars. However, they have very few watches of these two brands.
At Tysons Corner Galleria, you will find Liljenquist & Beckstead. If you only have time to go to one store, go to Liljenquist. They have one store for jewelry and another store entirely devoted to watches. There you will find everything there is at Lenkersdorfer, plus Lange, Girard-Perregaux, etc. They also have the widest selection of watches within each brand. However, don't expect to find any really high-end complications (i.e. minute repeaters, tourbillions, etc.).

There's some sort of exhibition at the Smithsonian's American History Museum. I haven't seen it, but here's a rather fussy web presentation:

The US Naval Observatory also has tours every other Monday night, which includes the US Master Clock facility. Little known in that part of the tour is a case full of unusual fanciful pocketwatches, on loan the from Smithsonian. There are also now-retired pendulum and telegraph clocks that used to be state of the art timekeeping:

Cuidado con el reloj
A mi me pillo hace 10 días toda la movida de Londres, cuando volvíamos a España, me hicieron quitarme los zapatos, el cinturón, sacarme todo lo que llevaba, incluso cadena y reloj. El reloj lo tuve que dejar en unas bandejas que pasan por un scaner, pero no tratan las cosas con delicadeza, a pesar de que le dije al personal de seguridad de Heathrow que se trataba de un reloj caro (era el PAM 111), la verdad sufrí un poquito hasta que me lo volví a poner en mi muñeca. Es sólo un aviso de como está el patio, me imagino que en EE.UU. aún será peor. Un saludo y buen viaje.
