“K.
if i remember well you were flying big airplanes for a living. Have you heard of the Omega Flightmaster watch ?
by chance did you ever happen to own one ?
if yes, do you have any comments on its use ?
i am interested in knowing a real story about this watch
was it a good "tool" watch ? any of your pilot colleagues used it ?
what was the importance of an accurate watch in a flight ?
why was relevant to be able to chronometer 12 hours as this omega is able to do ?
any details will be welcome
MfG
E.”
a lo que me responde:
“Hi E.,
I never had an Omega Flightmaster chronograph nor do I know anyone who had one…Looks nice though! I am afraid that most pilots that wear chronographs never use them to fly because there is a better one on the instrument panel. A wrist watche is difficult to use when hand flying and impossible at night. Time measure is important in flying should it be for flight clearances, position reports, holding patterns, non-precision approaches and so on. With the introduction of computers and GPS the old fashion watch is taking at best a back-up rolle in the commercial airplanes.
Best regards, K.”
