Hello Eddy (and other WIS tourists)
This WIS tour was written by FYL, and I hope he won't mind me translating and arranging it.
Start with Place Vendôme. There, you have Patek, Breguet, Dubail. And the Swatch Store where you might find a Diaphane One, the "fake" tourbillon by Swatch.
Leave the Place Vendôme facing the Tuillerie, and turn right on Rue Saint Honoré. Several small shopw with second hand watches, not much interesting. And you'll see Chronopassion.
About 50 meters further, and you are at WEMPE. Then, turn left, and you have Royal Quarz (despite their name, they DO have nice mechanical watches), OJ Perrin, and the Tourbillon shop (owned by the Swatch group).
Cross the Seine, and go on Rue du Bac for Explor'heur.
Continue to Boulevard St Germain for Antoine de Macedo. Ask to see Clément.
Continue on the Boulevard St Germain, but on the other side of the street, for Alain Silberstein. Then, go to Rue Madame, for Les Montres. Not far away is the other shop of Antoine de Macedo, dedicated to Vintages. You'll see Antoine there. About 100 meters away is the Montblanc shop, with some watches.
If you are not exhausted, you can go to a big Départment Store : Le Bon Marché, which has a little known but excellent watch section on street level.
Now, you are dead ! Your feet are crying for mercy, your credit card it still hot, and your kids will have to work if they want to go to Universtity !
If you are looking for straps, the best straps are to be found there :
- Camille Fournet 4 rue Réaumur 75003 Tel : 01 48 87 30 84
- Atelier du Bracelet Parisien (ABP) 7 rue St Hyacinthe 75001 Tel : 01 42 86 13 70 (hand made straps, with an incredible choice. First choice !)
Have a nice trip, and a nice stay. If you take the subway, it's 99% safe. Just don't show off your Bling-Bling Rolex in gold, and you won't have any problems. I know many people who take the subway every day with a tourbillon, a Lange, a Patek, ..., and they never had any problems. Just hide your watch under your sleeve.

Antoine de Macedo on boulevard Saint Germain...

It is a very cosy little shop with the workshop upstair while Clement is downstair with the clients.
They carry the higher brands such as UN, AP, VC, Breguet, Graham but also they have those new Vulcain watches which look and feel surprisingly good in the flesh, Eterna.
Clement speak fluent english and is a serious WIS.
For the exact address (boulevard Saint germain is rather long), look it up on the UN site under the retailers section.
Otherwise, one has Chronopassion on Faubourh Saint honoré, again with some serious WIS in the shop.
Last but not least, you have a very nice little shop on 8 Rue du bac (next to de Macedo). They have a lot of very good vintages and second hands, from type 20 and 21 military spec. up to this year panerai.
They also are D&S retailers.
Good luck with your Paris trip,
Luc
